Issani’s gentle herbal cleansing blends combine to treat different skin types. See Skincare to find out your skin type according to Ayurveda. Ingredients include rose petal, marshmallow, licorice, aloe vera powders and many other botanicals. This divine paste will exfoliate gently, whilst preparing your skin to absorb all the goodness to come!
Gentle steam stimulates blood flow to the upper layers of your skin whilst hydrating and preparing for your detoxifying masque.
French clay is blended with seasonal offerings from our garden like turmeric and aloe, loaded with fresh Daintree vitality.
Fresh aloe vera gel from our garden blended with organic rose or lavender hydrosol and a little coconut oil is applied. Aloe vera is a nutrient-rich, plant containing various therapeutic compounds, including hyaluronic acid. It is very soothing and deeply hydrating.

Your foot “Spa” begins with warm steamy towels followed by an exfoliating scrub made from French clay, sandalwood powder, frankincense, myrrh, resins and citrus peel powders combined with freshly picked turmeric and lemongrass paste.
Your bath water is infused with essential oils and organic Epsom Salts rich in magnesium. Warm, fresh Daintree mountain water is used.

AYURVEDIC HERBAL BODY POLISH
A heaven scented paste of sandalwood, frankincense, myrrh, turmeric, marshmallow, licorice, lemongrass and rose petal powders is blended with warm cow’s milk (or water) removing dead skin cells and deeply nourishing your whole body.
This luscious herbal paste is gently massaged into your skin prior to removal with warm, steamy towels.
After a quick warm shower, you will enjoy a full body Ayurvedic massage with traditional herbal oils suited to your body-type. Your exfoliated skin will soak up the goodness as the oils nourish absorb your massage oil. Ayurvedic massage is highly recommended after herbal body polish.

AYURVEDIC MASSAGE - abhyanga
Abhyanga means “loving hands” in Sanskrit.
This soothing, rhythmic massage uses herbal oils to stimulate the circulation of blood, lymph and prana (subtle energy), relieving tension throughout the whole body – mind, applying ancient Indian knowledge of the energy systems of the body. Abhyanga lulls you into a state of alert relaxation, similar to a deep, effortless meditation. Many tensions in the body – mind can be released during your Abhyanga treatment.
Traditionally formulated Indian herb infused oils are applied with long and circular strokes.
Includes head and face massage if desired.
Ayurvedic Massage is traditionally followed by a body steam bath to enhance the penetration of the medicinal oil and deepen detoxification.

Please allow an extra 15 minutes for your first visit to allow time to fill in your Client Information Form and to determine which Ayurvedic herbal oil to apply.
You will have a shower prior to your massage and within a few hours after returning home.
It is best to wear dark coloured, loose fitting clothes as traditional Ayurvedic massage oils are coloured by herbs which may leave traces.

HERBAL STEAM BATH
Relax into a full body herbal steam treatment to increase the penetration of your herb infused Ayurvedic or other massage oil, to intensify detoxification and deepen healing. A steam bath will further relax your muscles and your whole being. Fragrant resins and botanicals like sandalwood chips, frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon sticks and cardamom pods and ginger combine to permeate your skin, creating a divine aroma.

Swedhana improves circulation, relieves stiffness, loosens muscles and improves skin tone.
You will sit in a steam box for between 10 and 20 minutes depending on your Ayurvedic constitution. The herbs and resins are individually chosen to balance your Ayurvedic body type.
This treatment is followed by a shower during which you will apply a gentle Ayurvedic Herbal scrub.
Please allow 45 minutes for your steam treatment and shower.

The most sublime Ayurvedic therapy, Shirodhara is one of the most exquisite and relaxing experiences you’ll ever have.
The pouring oil represents the flow of consciousness.
Shirodhara gently dissipates stress and tension from your body, mind and soul by the continuous pouring of carefully warmed herb infused oil onto the third eye area.
A gentle, swaying motion from one temple to the other lulls the receiver into a deep state whilst just maintaining alertness, allowing long buried stresses to release naturally.

All sessions include Indian Head Massage with shower to finish.

Only the finest cold pressed or organic oils are used, and this contributes to the cost of this treatment as oils average around $80 -100 per treatment. Oils used are sesame oil, sunflower oil and herbal Ayurvedic Bala Oil, combined to suit your Ayurvedic profile.
Shirodhara greatly benefits, relaxes and nourishes the nervous system and is highly recommended for insomnia, stress headache or migraine and racing thoughts.
Deeper benefit comes with sequential treatments given after an Ayurvedic Consultation. Daily treatments are available during your stay and during ISSANI Daintree Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Retreats .

Mobile massage treatments are available to visitors and residents north of the river from Forest Creek to Cape Tribulation – a minimum of 2 hours of treatment is required with a call out fee of $40 per visit.
Cancellation Fee for bookings cancelled at least 2 hours prior to scheduled booking is 30% of therapy price. Cancellation Fee for less than 2 hours prior to agreed booking, or no contact and no show is 50% of therapy prices.
